Softball Recap: Century Comes Up Short

Century lost against Frankfort back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Century fell just short of Frankfort by a score of 6-4. The matchup marked the Centurions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Allison Burd was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Century and nudges their season record down to 3-3. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Frankfort, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Century will square off against Harrisburg at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Frankfort, they will face off against Goreville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Frankfort's pitchers better be ready for this one: Goreville has averaged an impressive 13.5 runs per game this season.
