Basketball Game Preview: Gorman Panthers vs. Neches Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Panthers duke it out with the Tigers on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Gorman is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They breezed past Cross Plains to the tune of 59-17. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Neches against Avalon on Monday as the squad secured a 58-22 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Eagles are ranked 1428th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gorman pushed their record up to 31-3 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.8 points over those games. As for Neches, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
