Softball Recap: Bridgeport Comes Up Short

Bridgeport lost against Caldwell back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bulldogs fell 6-2 to the Redskins.

Vanessa Mullen put in work while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Addie Snodgrass made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Bridgeport's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Caldwell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Bridgeport wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-1 win against Beallsville on the 7th. As for Caldwell, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Cambridge on the 7th.
