Basketball Recap: Yantis Comes Up Short

Yantis lost against North Hopkins back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Yantis Owls were dealt a 55-14 defeat at the hands of the North Hopkins Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1496th, while the Panthers are ranked 735th).

Yantis' loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-20. As for North Hopkins, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Yantis will head out to face off against Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Hopkins, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Como-Pickton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Hopkins will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
