Baseball Recap: Falls Church Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Falls Church and Mount Vernon, and Mount Vernon kept the tradition alive. The Jaguars fell just short of the Majors by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The game marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Falls Church got a good showing from Matthew Roeder, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Roeder has become a key player for the Jaguars: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 2-3 otherwise.

Falls Church's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Mount Vernon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.
