After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mangum, Merritt was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Cordell Blue Devils as Merritt made off with a 14-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Oilers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

The victory got Merritt back to even at 2-2. As for Cordell, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coming up, Merritt will face off against Mangum at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cordell, they will square off against Snyder at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Snyder has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.5 runs per game on average), something Cordell will no doubt try to take advantage of.
