Volleyball Recap: Cooter Takes a Loss

Cooter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Gideon Bulldogs, falling 3-0. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-7, 25-12.

Cooter's offense was headlined by Payton Forsythe and Caroline Sullivan, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Olivia Richardson and her four assists. Jozi Johnson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Gideon to victory were Jalynn Ford and Haley Skinner. Ford had six digs and three assists, while Skinner had two aces. Hallie Lawrence also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Cooter's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Gideon, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Cooter has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against North Pemiscot on the 26th. As for Gideon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against South Pemiscot on the 26th.
