Baseball Game Preview: Blacksher Bulldogs vs. Bayshore Christian Eagles

The Blacksher Bulldogs will face off against the Bayshore Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Blacksher is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Blacksher took a 17-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bayshore Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Blacksher had just enough and edged out Bayshore Christian 7-6.

Brody Watson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jamison Coleman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Brayden Bailey, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

With the loss, Bayshore Christian broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Blacksher, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
