Football Game Preview: Waynesburg Central Raiders vs. Carlynton Cougars + How To Watch

The Waynesburg Central Raiders will head out to face off against the Carlynton Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Waynesburg Central is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Thursday. They were beaten by Seton LaSalle 41-14. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 317th, while the Rebels are ranked 136th).

Waynesburg Central might have lost, but man, Teagen Crouse was a machine: he rushed for 113 yards and two TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 105 yards on ten of 18 attempts. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 76 yards.

Meanwhile, Carlynton played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 42-18 to Keystone Oaks. The Cougars have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Waynesburg Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Carlynton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Waynesburg Central barely slipped by Carlynton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 27-26. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Cougars' John Sciulli, who rushed for 102 yards and a pair of scores.
