Basketball Recap: Carson Benoist's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Nazarene Christian Academy over Victory Baptist Academy

Nazarene Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Victory Baptist Academy Patriots. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Nazarene Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Carson Benoist, who posted 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Benoist a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Aidan Adams, who had 18 points and seven rebounds.

It was another big night for Hudson Ruhl, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards for Victory Baptist Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ruhl has scored at least a third of Victory Baptist Academy's points. Isaac Johnson was another key player, putting up 13 points and eight rebounds.

Nazarene Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

As for Victory Baptist Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-35 defeat against Victory Christian Academy on the 23rd.
