It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Port Charlotte had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Southeast Seminoles with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on five straight.
While Port Charlotte might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Southeast scored at least 16 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-16, 25-14.
Port Charlotte was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.
Port Charlotte's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Southeast, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.
Port Charlotte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Braden River on the 19th. Southeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
