Chaparral has gone 8-2 against Desert Mountain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Firebirds will welcome the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Chaparral will be strutting in after a win while Desert Mountain will be coming in after a defeat.

Chaparral is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Saguaro: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Firebirds blew the Sabercats out of the water with a 59-18 final score. The Firebirds pushed the score to 50-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Sabercats had no chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chaparral to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ellie Billstrom, who went 7-for-9 on her way to 20 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Kendall Dinh, who posted 15 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Desert Mountain didn't have quite enough to beat Sunrise Mountain on Thursday and fell 51-48. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Chaparral has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 25 points this season. As for Desert Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Chaparral strolled past Desert Mountain when the teams last played back in January by a score of 55-38. Will the Firebirds repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
