Football Recap: Ashley Takes a Loss

Ashley extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-7. They were dealt a 38-8 loss at the hands of the Hoggard Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Screaming Eagle have suffered since September 20, 2024.

Brooks Powell threw for 48 yards on two of nine attempts. Jahlil Bryant was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards. On the ground, Bryson Lovelace rushed for 41 yards.

As for Hoggard, they pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Matthew Boring was his usual excellent self, rushing for 32 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 110 yards while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Ashley has already played their next matchup, a 14-13 victory against Cary on the 7th. As for Hoggard, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Willow Spring at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th.
