Softball Recap: Franklin Sets Scoring Season-High Against Oakwood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Oakwood Lumberjacks a 21-0 shutout on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Franklin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Oakwood, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will head out to square off against Bellbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oakwood, they will square off against Brookville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
