Basketball Recap: South Lenoir Takes a Loss

South Lenoir won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They took a blow against the Ayden - Grifton Chargers, falling 85-49. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-49 back in December of 2024.

Ayden - Grifton was led to victory by Hatteras Jenkins and Jahmir Outlaw. Jenkins posted 25 points, while Outlaw earned 17 points. Those 25 points gave Jenkins a new career-high. Nygel Morgan was another key player, putting up 13 points.

South Lenoir's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8. As for Ayden - Grifton, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

South Lenoir has already played their next match (against Wallace-Rose Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ayden - Grifton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-63 loss against Washington on the 27th.
