Baseball Game Preview: Carlsbad Lancers vs. La Costa Canyon Mavericks

For the second straight game, Carlsbad will face off against La Costa Canyon. The Lancers will take on the Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Carlsbad will bounce into Friday's match after beating La Costa Canyon, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Lancers came out on top against the Mavericks by a score of 6-1 on Wednesday.

Ian Fisher tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Carlsbad got a big performance out of Rob Bering, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Ward, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Carlsbad's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for La Costa Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
