Softball Recap: Normal Community Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Normal Community's offense. They came up short against the Glenwood Titans on Wednesday, falling 10-0. If the Ironmen were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Titans when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Normal Community saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Engel, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Normal Community and nudges their season record down to 15-13. As for Glenwood, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Normal Community and Glenwood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Ironmen (ranked 127th) will meet Richwoods (ranked 426th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Glenwood will face off against Marion at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (5 vs. 36). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 1.1, the Wildcats 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
