Softball Recap: Maywood CES Has No Trouble Against Elizabeth

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sotomayor, Maywood CES was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 20-5 margin over the Elizabeth Bulldogs. The Wolfpack haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Maywood CES got a massive performance out of Emma Flores, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Flores a new career-high. Camila Dominguez was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Maywood CES always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .788. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Maywood CES' win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Elizabeth, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Maywood CES will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
