Softball Game Preview: Herriman Mustangs vs. Syracuse Titans

For the second straight game, Herriman will face off against Syracuse. The Mustangs will take on the Titans at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Herriman will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Herriman is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Syracuse a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Sierra Prescott tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on McKenzie Quintero, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Syracuse, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12.
