Softball Recap: Burkburnett Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Burkburnett came into Friday's matchup having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let the Lake Worth Bullfrogs get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Bulldogs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Lydia Duff was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 16 games. Tatum Winney was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Burkburnett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Burkburnett's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-15. As for Lake Worth, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Coincidentally, Burkburnett and Lake Worth will both be playing Bridgeport the next time they take the field. Burkburnett will head out to face Bridgeport at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Lake Worth will host them at 7:00 p.m. on March 21st.
