Football Recap: Bloomingdale Starts Season with Victory Against Newsome + How To Watch

Bloomingdale had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Newsome Wolves 41-40. This was payback for the Bulls, who suffered a 28-14 loss the last time these two teams met.

Preston Beckham had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 293 yards and four scores while picking up 17.2 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Another player making a difference was Sammy Zelaya, who rushed for 69 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Although Newsome took the loss, they still got scores from Jaikim Haggans, Max Urbanek, Trey Gaffney, Lukas Guenther, Gianni Flore, and Jeremy Tolliver Jr.

Looking ahead, Bloomingdale will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Blake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Newsome, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Palmetto at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
