Basketball Recap: Fort Worth THESA Comes Up Short

Fort Worth THESA was the 59-56 winner over Tyler HEAT when they last played one another back in February of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Fort Worth THESA Riders fell 68-60 to Tyler HEAT on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Riders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while Tyler HEAT are ranked 128th).

Loss or not, Fort Worth THESA got some senior leadership from Micah Ragsdale and Timmy Frank. Ragsdale on his way to 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Frank en route to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Graham, who posted eight points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tyler HEAT to victory, but perhaps none more so than John Hall, who to rack up 18 points. What's more, Hall also posted a 75% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Aiden Shelton was another key player, en route to 14 points.

Fort Worth THESA has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-18 record this season. The win was the 19th in a row for Tyler HEAT, bringing their record for this year to 36-2.

Fort Worth THESA didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-50 victory against Dallas HSAA on the 21st. As for Tyler HEAT, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-47 win against San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool on the 21st.
