Basketball Game Preview: Ossining Pride vs. Lincoln Lancers

The Ossining Pride will challenge the Lincoln Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Ossining's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.

Lincoln is facing Ossining at the wrong time: Ossining suffered their first home loss of the season on Saturday and they're likely out for redemption. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. While the Pride didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 19-10 in the first quarter.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Sophia Torrieri, who posted 16 points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja Myra Thomas, who had 15 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Ossining smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Lincoln had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were outmatched by Port Chester and fell 51-8. The Lancers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it ten in a row dating back to last season.

Ossining's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-4. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything came up roses for Ossining against Lincoln in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured an 80-26 win. In that contest, Ossining amassed a halftime lead of 55-20, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
