Soccer Game Preview: Capistrano Valley Christian vs. Western Christian

The Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles will face off against the Western Christian Fighting Lancers at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Capistrano Valley Christian turned things around against Fairmont Prep on Wednesday. Neither they nor the Huskies could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result was nothing new for the Eagles as the team has yet to pick up a win this season.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Western Christian brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They came out on top against Samueli Academy by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. It was an even better day for Chase Chavez as he scored three goals for his team.

The victory snapped Western Christian's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3-1 record. Capistrano Valley Christian's draw makes their record 0-6-1 this season.

Capistrano Valley Christian might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from Western Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Capistrano Valley Christian was down 4-1.
