Baseball Recap: Academic Magnet Takes a Loss

Academic Magnet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Porter-Gaud Cyclones. The Raptors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cyclones apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Heckman Tyler was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Academic Magnet's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Porter-Gaud, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academic Magnet will venture away from home to challenge Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Andrews' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Academic Magnet's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Porter-Gaud, they will take on Pinewood Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
