Soccer Game Preview: Escondido vs. Bonita Vista

The Escondido Cougars will face off against the Bonita Vista Barons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Escondido will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Monday, Escondido made easy work of Mount Miguel and carried off a 4-1 victory. David Ortiz was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Bonita Vista didn't have quite enough to beat Otay Ranch on Monday and fell 4-3. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Barons came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Mustangs are ranked 635th).

This is the second loss in a row for Bonita Vista and nudges their season record down to 4-3-1. As for Escondido, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which somehow still isn't as good as their 9-1-1 record this season.
