Basketball Recap: Wells Comes Up Short

Wells lost against Cumberland Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pirates fell 41-32 to the Knights. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

LeAhna Kindle produced another solid performance putting up 21 points for Cumberland Academy. The matchup was Kindle's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Surae Wofford, who posted 11 points.

Wells' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Cumberland Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Wells will take on Groveton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Cumberland Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 49-44 defeat against Alto on the 6th.
