Football Game Preview: Tarboro Vikings vs. Greene Central Rams + How To Watch

Tarboro is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Greene Central Rams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Tarboro is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Tarboro is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Northampton County to the tune of 49-0 last Friday. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Jaguars are ranked 380th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tarboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caiden Everette, who picked up 54 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground.all of that, receiving production came thanks to one massive catch Another back making a difference was Kamerin McDowell-Moore, who rushed for 65 yards and two TDs on only five carries.

Meanwhile, Greene Central played a tough game last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Martin County, falling 38-14. The matchup marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Although Greene Central took the loss, they still got scores from Joshua Cetnar and Sam Avent.

Even if they lost, Greene Central's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece ( Jason Wilson and Mason Dillon also recorded half a sack). Greene Central got some further help from Austin Hagan: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

Having lost for the first time this season, Greene Central fell to 4-1. As for Tarboro, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: McDowell-Moore and Dejuan Cobb. McDowell-Moore just won't slow down this season and has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 141.6 rushing yards per game. Cobb has been a dominant force too and has averaged 134.4 rushing yards per game.
