Strafford put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They wrapped up 2024 with a 70-56 win over the Miller Cardinals. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Cardinals are ranked 76th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Strafford's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Miller, they moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Strafford will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Norwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Miller, they will face off against St. Elizabeth at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Miller knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully St. Elizabeth likes a good challenge.
