Baseball Recap: Kenmore East Bulldogs vs. Lewiston-Porter Lancers

Kenmore East extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 8-5 in the process. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Lewiston-Porter Lancers. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly two runs.

Erik Freeman made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Kenmore East is 5-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4 otherwise. Freeman was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Freeman wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Connor Lembke, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. That RBI was Lembke's first of the season.

As for Lewiston-Porter, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The defeat was just more heartbreak for they who fell 4-2 when the teams previously met back in May of 2023.

On Lewiston-Porter's side, Brayden VanEgmond was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
