Volleyball Recap: Sidney's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Sidney waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Stebbins Indians with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Sidney was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-10, 25-10.

Sidney was led to victory by Ahniyah Wilson and Marly Coons. Wilson had nine digs and five aces, while Coons had three digs and two aces. That's the most aces Coons has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good server: Sidney was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matches.

Sidney's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Stebbins, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sidney will take on Northmont at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Stebbins, they will face off against Franklin Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
