Softball Game Preview: Ponte Vedra Sharks vs. West Nassau Warriors

The Ponte Vedra Sharks will take on the West Nassau Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ponte Vedra will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Ponte Vedra made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Ridgeview, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Sharks were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Panthers on Tuesday.

Taylor Scribner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Carley Clarkson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Addison Siebenaler was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Clarkson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Ponte Vedra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but West Nassau ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hilliard, sneaking past 5-4.

Ponte Vedra pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for West Nassau, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
