Basketball Recap: Word of God Academy Beats Prairie View Academy for Their Third Straight Victory

Word of God Academy strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took down the Prairie View Academy Spartans 61-46. That's more bragging rights for the Force, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Word of God Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zyere Cartwright, who shot 58% from the field on his way to 25 points. The contest was Cartwright's fourth in a row with at least 20 points. Taj Bell was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

Word of God Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Prairie View Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Word of God Academy will host Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Prairie View Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against St. Aloysius at 7:00 p.m.
