Softball Recap: Morton Comes Up Short

Morton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Normal University Pioneers. That's two games in a row now that the Potters have lost by exactly four runs.

Morton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-24. As for Normal University, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-16.

Coming up, Morton will square off against Dunlap at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Potters' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Normal University, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Oakwood at 4:30 p.m.
