Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Union). They walked away with an 83-75 victory over the Paw Paw Pirates on Friday. The Tigers pushed the score to 66-41 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates cut but never quite recovered from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union to victory, but perhaps none more so than Corbin Streets, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 20 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Braylon Ward, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Paw Paw still got an impressive performance from Donavan Tanouye, who went 14 of 30 on his way to 38 points in addition to eight boards and eight steals. The contest was Tanouye's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Carder, who posted 23 points and three steals.
Union's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Paw Paw, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
