Soccer Game Preview: Saint Viator vs. Carmel

The Saint Viator Lions will head out to take on the Carmel Corsairs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Monday, Saint Viator didn't have quite enough to beat Oak Park-River Forest and fell 3-2.

Monica Correa and Kalin Mccrea scored both of the Lions' goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Carmel was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell just short of Lake Forest by a score of 2-1. Carmel have struggled against Lake Forest recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Saint Viator, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Saint Viator came out on top in a nail-biter against Carmel when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
