Soccer Game Preview: Hemet vs. Citrus Hill

The Hemet Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Citrus Hill Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hemet has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 16.

Hemet managed to keep up with Arlington until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Hemet lost 6-1 to Arlington. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 943rd, while the Lions are ranked 53rd).

Meanwhile, neither Citrus Hill nor Paloma Valley could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Benigno Moctezuma was the only thing that stood between Citrus Hill and a shutout considering he scored both of Citrus Hill's goals, bringing his season total up to seven goals.

Hemet's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. Citrus Hill's draw makes their record 3-4-8 this season.

Hemet might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Citrus Hill when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Can Hemet avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
