Baseball Recap: Gulf Breeze Has No Trouble Against Booker T. Washington

Gulf Breeze never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over the Booker T. Washington Hornets. Considering the Dolphins have won four games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jake Hooten made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Roman Jackson, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Tanner Owens also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Gulf Breeze was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Gulf Breeze is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Booker T. Washington and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulf Breeze will head out to challenge Escambia at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Booker T. Washington, they will venture away from home to take on Tate at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tate will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Booker T. Washington surely won't give up without a fight.
