Baseball Game Preview: Lynn Camp Wildcats vs. Jellico Blue Devils

Lynn Camp and Jellico are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Lynn Camp and 14 for Jellico dating back to last season.

Lynn Camp fell victim to Knox Central and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Panthers. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meanwhile, Jellico came up short against Sunbright on Tuesday, falling 17-6.

Mason Dople led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Adam Haskell, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

Jellico's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Lynn Camp, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lynn Camp has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jellico struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Lynn Camp was able to grind out a solid victory over Jellico when the teams last played back in March, winning 14-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
