Soccer Game Preview: Winona vs. Independence

The Winona Tigers will challenge the Independence Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winona's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Winona came up short against South Panola, falling 7-0. That's two games in a row now that Winona has lost by exactly seven goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Independence). They came out on top in a nail-biter against Grenada on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1.

Independence's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3-1. As for Winona, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
