Basketball Recap: Muncy Starts Season with Win Against East Juniata

Muncy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 65-36 win over the East Juniata Tigers. The Indians have beaten the Tigers the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Jaxton Frantz was nothing short of spectacular: he went 9-for-18 to rack up 28 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Those five rebounds gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Mausteller, who posted 11 points and four steals.

East Juniata is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Muncy will square off against Troy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Juniata, they will take on Littlestown at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
