Volleyball Recap: Vintage Comes Up Short at Home Against Castro Valley

Vintage unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Castro Valley Trojans by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crushers of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Vintage took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-16, 24-26, 19-25, 25-15, 19-17.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vintage will welcome Wood on Saturday. As for Castro Valley, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Moreau Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
