Baseball Recap: The Villages Charter Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Villages Charter walked away with it. They blew past the Palatka Panthers 10-2 on Tuesday. The Buffalo might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Logan Godwin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Torin Foley, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: The Villages Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palatka only managed five hits.

The Villages Charter pushed their record up to 22-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Palatka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-10.

The Villages Charter will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
