Maryvale Prep's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Tonopah Valley Phoenix 41-21. The Matador have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Alanah Arriaga, who went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Myers, who posted eight points in addition to ten boards and four steals.

Maryvale Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Maryvale Prep's record is now 10-1. As for Tonopah Valley, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Maryvale Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-21 victory against Anthem Prep on the 14th. Tonopah Valley has also already played their next match, a 49-10 loss against Parker on the 14th.
