Softball Recap: Capac Takes a Loss

Capac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-3 to the Marlette Red Raiders. If the Chiefs were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Red Raiders when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Capac saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Thorner, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Thorner has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Capac's record now sits at 0-14. As for Marlette, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Capac will face off against Cardinal Mooney Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marlette, they will challenge Lapeer East at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
