Hardin Valley Academy is 8-2 against West since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Hawks will look to defend their home field against the Rebels at 6:30 p.m. The last four games Hardin Valley Academy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Hardin Valley Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Maryville and fell 8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Hawks have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against William Blount by a score of 9-5 on Monday. With that win, the Rebels brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Isaac Hunter looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Morgan Ferrell, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Dugan, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 8-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hardin Valley Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-7-1 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for West, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 17-13.

Hardin Valley Academy beat West 7-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
