Football Recap: Manual Rams vs. Bloomington Purple Raiders
Manual was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Bloomington Purple Raiders 41-8. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while the Purple Raiders are ranked 111th).
Rob Lanier was nothing short of spectacular for Bloomington: he rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns.
Manual's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Bloomington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manual will take on Peoria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Peoria knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 point or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Manual likes a good challenge. As for Bloomington, they will challenge Normal West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bloomington has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 123 points over their last three games.
