Basketball Recap: Frankton Takes a Loss

Frankton suffered their biggest defeat since November 7, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers 68-34. The Eagles have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Frankton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Macy Curtis, who posted five points and three blocks, and Emma Key, who had 13 points and five rebounds. Those three blocks gave Curtis a new career-high.

Jacklynn Hosier continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Alexandria-Monroe, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Hosier has scored at least a third of Alexandria-Monroe's points. Lily Harpe was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven steals.

Frankton now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Alexandria-Monroe, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Frankton is taking a road trip to take on Daleville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Alexandria-Monroe, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-20 win against Taylor on the 7th.
