Volleyball Preview: Nevis Tigers vs. Verndale Pirates
Nevis and Verndale are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The Nevis Tigers are on the road again on Tuesday to play the Verndale Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Nevis will be strutting in after a win while Verndale will be coming in after a loss.
Last Monday, it was close, but Nevis sidestepped Browerville for a 3-2 victory.
Meanwhile, Verndale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to Sebeka.
The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-13, 25-10.
Nevis' win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Verndale, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.
Nevis was able to grind out a solid victory over Verndale in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nevis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
