Volleyball Recap: Wapahani Raiders vs. Delta Eagles

Wapahani unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Delta Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Wapahani actually scored more points across those five sets (109-106), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 26-24, 20-25, 20-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Nola Baker paced Wapahani's offense, picking up 15 kills. Baker got some help from Caroline Huntzinger and her 42 assists. Cali Parker controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Delta was led to victory by Maycee Ramsey and Madalyn Polito. Ramsey had 18 digs and three assists, while Polito had six aces. Ramsey has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Wapahani wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Lapel on the 21st. As for Delta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Jay County on the 21st.
